Get your hands moving and learning. My students work in small groups to reinforce the skills I have taught. They remember things better when they are actively involved in hands-on learning. We need more hands-on learning centers in our classroom.
My students are second graders who live in different neighborhoods scattered around our urban city in Tennessee.
They come from a variety of diverse families. Center time is one of the things they look forward to each day. My students love active hands-on learning. They attend a public K-5 elementary school.
My Project
The Social Studies center activities will review American symbols, identify continents and oceans, explore cultures around the world, economics, and landforms using hands-on learning. I will be able to put important Social Studies concepts right at children's fingertips with ready-to-use learning centers that set up in a flash. Detailed instruction charts will give students step by step directions to complete each activity.
The hands-on Social Studies center activities will enhance my students learning.
They will use the center activities to reinforce the skills I have taught. Students who are actively involved while learning skills, remember the skills longer. They will learn about American symbols, continents and oceans, cultures, economics, and landforms while working with the center activities.
