Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach students with multiple disabilities, health impairments, blindness, and those who are wheelchair bound. My students are amazing in their own unique ways, but many face challenges with communication, mobility, and sensory processing. They thrive when provided with hands-on, engaging tools that allow them to explore the world around them through their senses.

To support my students’ individual needs, I am requesting sensory materials such as textured fidgets, sensory bins, tactile objects, and calming tools.

These items will allow my students to regulate their emotions, stay engaged during lessons, and have meaningful sensory experiences that connect to their learning.

For students who are blind or medically fragile, sensory tools are more than just classroom supplies—they are essential to building skills, reducing anxiety, and giving them equal opportunities to participate.

By having sensory resources in the classroom, my students will be able to focus better, reduce frustration, and experience joy in learning. These tools will also help create a calming environment that supports both their academic growth and their overall well-being.
