My Students

Our science center needs help! It's become--boring! My students need some new materials to help spice up our science center and make the children want to discover more about their world!

My students are 25 Full Day Kindergarten students who enjoy discovering the world around them.

We are located in a suburban school district, surrounded by lots of green spaces. Many of my students qualify for free or reduced lunches and are not able to provide the basic materials needed to learn at school or at home.

My Project

My students often ask questions about the world outside our window and the binoculars will help them have a look into it! They also wonder about why some materials are magnetic and some are not, so the magnetic exploration boards can help them make connections. One of their favorite science tools to use is the magnifying glass and having the magnifying board will give them some specific items to look at and wonder about. I know my children will love the discovery tubes; watching the liquids move and interact with the objects inside while learning about gravity and viscosity. The children enjoy learning through hands-on discovery and the items we have chosen will help them do that!

This project is important because we need to encourage more students at a young age to inquire into the world around them!

They need to see that science can be fun and can answer many questions they have about their surroundings!
