My Students

As we embrace the new world of integrated science, my students need the tools that will help them succeed.

These budding scientists are in Northern California and engage with the subject in a very hands-on way.

These high school students are smart, funny, and very interested in the world around them. The school environment is very diverse with an arts magnet program, strong relationship with our local community college, and very active student body.

My Project

These resources will be students learn about the diverse science concepts in their new integrated science sequence. The incubator will allow us to grow bacteria cell cultures and learn about aseptic technique. The books tell the fascinating story of Henrietta Lacks and her "immortal" cells that are still used in research to this day. This book touches on both the science and the ethical challenges of research. The electromagnetism, electricity, and light kits will largely supplement our unit on physical science and give these students the materials they need to do hands-on experimentation.

This project will help my students by letting them work with a broad spectrum of science equipment and making connections across the scientific disciplines.

Hopefully they will be able to take the knowledge and skills they acquire in this class to solve problems in the real world. Please consider this project for Chevron Fuel Your School Funding.
