I have a great group of students who love to learn. They are your average 4th-grade students. They love to read and do projects. They talk a lot because they have so much to share. They love being creative and sharing their work and their interests with each other.
I am lucky that my students are so hardworking and want to do their best on everything.
They push themselves and each other to work harder and be their best. I enjoy being with them every day and watching them grow and mature academically as well as socially.
My Project
Research has shown that hands-on activities and use of manipulatives help students better understand when they are learning about new topics. One of our 4th grade standards is to teach about force and motion including Newton's Laws and gravitational pull. Fourth grade students love learning about force and motion, and there are so many fantastic ways to make this concept fun and interesting as well as educational.
The Marble Maze, Perplexus, Shoot the Moon, and labyrinths will allow students to touch and manipulative materials and games to help them better understand the concepts of gravity and Newton's Laws as well as the world around them in our science class.
They will be able to explore mazes and explore how gravity and direction is applied to the movement of marbles and other equipment such as rods and balls.
The use of hands-on equipment and materials enables students to take the concepts that we are reading about apply them to real experiences. This is a proven way to help students learn and understand the concepts. Just reading about science does not fully engage students in the learning of the scientific concepts.
