Hands on Science and Math Materials for Early Learners!
Help me give my students these STEM materials to help them explore through their play. These hands on materials will help them engage in math and science exploration while building upon their individual strengths.
My students have unique learning needs and learn and process new information in many different ways. My students are 4 years old. They have delays in 2 or more areas (cognition, motor, communication, social/emotional, and or functional/adaptive) of their development, however, this does not define who they are or limit their learning capacity. My students are loving, caring, and eager to learn and try new things. I am blessed to be their teacher and couldn’t ask for a better group of learners.
My job, as their early childhood special education teacher, is to provide them with hands-on learning experiences to help them reach their potential, to keep them engaged, and to be excited about learning and trying new things.
My Project
These STEM materials will provide my students with hands on materials for them to explore and play with. My students need to be able to feel, smell, see and hear how items work and these materials will provide that opportunity for them. The various sets of blocks will allow my students to build and create while the sand and water materials and the sensory beanbags will provide a layer of sensory exploration. Students will learn math concepts by exploring the shape boxes, and number concepts using the number locks and number bots.
Sensory exploration is a critical component for my students when learning science and math concepts.
These items will help my students learn new concepts while also meeting their individual needs.
