Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are 21st-century learners who are eager to use all of the technology available to them. I teach 25 curious fourth-grade scientists in a small Title I school that has an amazing and supportive principal.
My students are eager to learn and their brains are sponges that absorb any and all information given to them.
Everything is a potential investigation or experiment to them, so I strive to provide my students with as many learning and project-based opportunities as possible. I constantly enhance the school curriculum and students' intrinsic motivation to learn more by infusing STEM correlations whenever possible.
Because of our small school size, funding levels are not as high as other schools in our area. Grants and projects like this one become an integral part of how I obtain resources to supplement learning experiences. I truly believe that the future lies in our children. They have virtually unlimited potential, and my job is to enable them to reach it.
My Project
COVID-19 changed our way of life. It certainly changed the way I teach. Gone are students collaborating on a rug and working at round tables together on Math and Science projects. Students had to make major adjustments with nearly all assignments being completed on a computer or tablet. In addition, teachers, such as myself, have to also make major adjustments in how we deliver content to our students without having to constantly create new data sheets and work assignments.
That's where a Teacher Pay Teachers gift card comes in!
With this gift card I will be able to purchase Science, Math, Language Arts and Social Studies activities that supplement our curriculum and are distance learning and hybrid teaching ready! This will help me provide my students that are in the classroom and those who are remaining on line with distance learning many interactive and engaging activities that are not only in line with all content standards but are project based, creative, fun and easy to use and assign. My students will benefit greatly by having these resources.
