This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Learning manipulatives are not just fun and games; they're powerful educational tools that promote cognitive development, problem-solving skills, and spatial awareness—all crucial skills for our students with Autism as they embark on their learning journey. With learning manipulatives, children engage in hands-on exploration, develop fine motor skills, and learn to persist through challenges, fostering a growth mindset that will benefit them in all areas of their academic and personal lives.

With your help, I aim to create a diverse collection of manipulatives to help create hands-on learning, catering to the varied interests and developmental levels of each student in our self-contained Autism classroom.

As we all know, the world of special education is very individualized. I plan to not only do this with their academics with reading, writing, and math, but also with their hands-on learning... including multi-sensory learning, dramatic/imaginative play, and more! Each area of their day will start to have more and more hands-on aspects so we can offer unique learning opportunities and hours of enjoyment for our young learners.

Your generous contribution will directly impact the educational experience of our Kindergarten and 1st grade students in our self-contained Autism classroom, providing them with access to high-quality learning manipulatives that will enhance their cognitive skills, foster creativity, and ignite a lifelong love for learning. Together, we can create an environment where every child feels inspired, supported, and empowered to explore the world through play and discovery.
