I have the best students. My students are eager to learn. My class is found in a low income school district. Our school is at least 50% free and reduced lunch. Many of my students need extra support with social emotional learning. Our school is becoming a "trauma sensitive" school. This is something our school has researched and studied as a way to better help our students dealing with difficult situations. Many of my student's families look to the school for family support. I have many meetings with struggling families to support them through difficult times.
This year especially, due to Covid-19, we are expecting students that may have had a difficult time at home, while school has been out.
My Project
Early learning intervention is the key to student success. These materials will provide hands on reading intervention activities that could be used with an educational assistant or volunteer. Word building tiles allow young learners to manipulate letter sounds to read and spell words. Picture magnets offer opportunities for students to build vocabulary for reading. Letter tiles and pictures can be used together to create learning activities. These materials are easy for students to use and get to work quickly. Students learn best through play. These materials will allow for a fun and engaging way of learning. Thank you
