This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are a great group of kids. They come from low-socioeconomic households and receive free breakfast and lunch. Now that schools are closed they receive these meals remotely.
Even though online learning has been a difficult transition, they have shown up and are eager to learn.
During these trying times, any type of resources would be beneficial to their continued success in this new learning platform.
My Project
Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, my students have had to do online learning from home. My students come from low-socioeconomic households where a physical book at home is very limited.
Most students don't have appropriate reading material to enjoy reading at their leisure.
As we know, reading is fundamental in achieving higher educational goals and this is what I strive for my students.
I want them to enjoy an actual physical book to continue encouraging their love for reading. This donation will greatly enhance their at home learning and reading skills.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
