I am a 3rd-grade teacher of 35 well-deserved scholars who all are on different reading levels. Some students are still learning, letter and letter sounds, while some students are challenging themselves by expanding their vocabulary through prefixes and suffixes.
In our classroom, our overall goal is to become better readers and writers.
My students are in need of extra resources to help them at all levels of their reading abilities while still being meaningful and developmentally appropriate.
My Project
I will use the reading manipulatives and games to engage my scholars in lessons and small group centers. My students reading abilities range from learning letters and sounds to expanding vocabulary.
These materials will allow me to differentiate centers and lessons according to scholars reading abilities.
These materials are selected because students will be better engaged with them instead of using boring worksheets. Scholars will be able to extend their learning from teacher-led instruction to small groups centers and complete activities with confidence and while having fun. Therefore, reaching their goals of becoming better readers and writers.
