Hands On Reading Fun

Help me give my students a variety of sight word and foundational hands on centers to help with their reading.

My Students

I currently work with 12 special education students in first grade; all with varying abilities and needs. Even with the challenges they face they are hard working, kind, and wonderful students to know.

Currently, many of students are below grade level and do not have basic foundational reading skills on the current first grade level.

Due to the pandemic, many of these students are coming to school full time for the first time in the educational careers. As one can imagine, learning online as a kindergartener for your first school experience can be difficult.

My Project

The materials I'm looking for will make a huge difference in my students' learning. After many had been learning from home with little or no in person learning I am playing catch up with foundational skills.

My students are coming to first grade with little knowledge of basic letters, sounds, and sight words needed to be successful for reading on a first grade level.

Many of my students are hands-on, visual learners and need a variety of centers to build their confidence with repetitive practice that can enforce these skills.
