My Project
Our students are creative, curious and excited to learn. As a Title 1 school, we have many students that are excited to have experiences that they may not be able to otherwise have. This includes in depth, hands on and immersive science classes.
In the physics classroom, students are really able to experience science in a very real way.
This provides an opportunity for all types of students to enjoy participating in science, including students that struggle with more theoretical concepts. Our physics program has plenty of virtual options for students but is lacking on physical materials for labs.
The purpose of the scales, measuring wheels, tripods, and mass sets is to provide resources for a wide array of labs. Mass sets can be used in many different contexts and in tandem with the other materials. Propulsion mechanisms allow for students to do experiments they can't do by hand, including learning about force and momentum.
My students are fantastic. They like to experiment, play around with concepts and experience things firsthand. By having materials that allow them to experience these physics concepts in and out of the classroom, they'll have an enriching physics experience.
