My Project

I love how curious and hands-on my students are when they’re exploring the world through science. Whether we’re using toy cars to model Newton’s Laws or testing the effects of gravity with ramps and stopwatches, they light up when they get to see science in action. These physics materials—prisms, metal bearings, a whiteboard optics set, and engaging physics books—will bring abstract concepts like light, motion, and energy into sharp focus. Rather than just reading about refraction, they’ll see it happen with prisms. Instead of imagining collisions, they’ll test them with different metal bearings. These tools will help turn passive learning into active discovery.

These materials will allow my students to make sense of physics through real-world exploration.

With the whiteboard optics set, I’ll be able to demonstrate how light bends and reflects—concepts that are difficult to grasp without a visual. The metal bearings will help students compare mass, momentum, and energy transfer in collisions. The books will give them accessible explanations and inspiration to apply what they learn in class to the world around them. My goal is to make physics feel less like memorization and more like puzzle-solving and play. My students are deeply engaged when they can see the “why” behind scientific ideas, and these resources will help them do just that.

What makes my students special is how they rise to every challenge with curiosity and creativity. Many of them come from diverse backgrounds and bring unique perspectives to class discussions and lab work. They care about understanding, not just getting the right answer. With the right tools, they thrive—and I can’t wait to see what they’ll discover next.
