Hands-on Phonics Materials to Build Excited and Engaged Learners!
Help me give my students hands-on materials, such as teaching tubs, magnetic tiles, reading tiles, books and games, to make phonics and phonemic awareness instruction more engaging!
My students are first graders in Spanish Dual Immersion. They are motivated, creative, hard working, and the most brilliant first graders around!
They are curious and excited about learning.
They are looking forward to becoming great readers and writers this year! They have proven to be resilient and determined, even through all the uncertainty of the pandemic.
My Project
This project will provide my first grade dual language immersion students with hands-on learning materials for explicit phonics and phonemic awareness instruction.
Having hands-on materials for my 60 dual language immersion students to use during phonics instruction will help to build their engagement and excitement for learning.
In light of the current pandemic we have seen deficits in our students' learning. These materials will be a key component of my reading group instruction and will be used daily to help with remediation of these learning deficits. They will be greatly appreciated in our classroom!
