My Project

I encourage students in my fifth grade math class to talk and be engaged with each other. Math tools help support students by allowing them to work together and have tactile math experiences. Hands-on practice will allow students to move easily to more traditional pen and paper math practice.

When students use math tools in the classroom, their confidence grows!

Students learn to use math vocabulary and test out strategies with their classmates. When the time comes for students to show what they know, their experiences with math tools will stay with them. They will truly become mathematicians.
