Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Students learn best through active engagement and hands-on experiences. By incorporating these requested math manipulatives into my classroom, I can offer my students meaningful, tactile opportunities to explore mathematical concepts.

We will be using these in large group, small groups and individual settings.

Manipulatives allow students to visualize abstract ideas and physically interact with numbers, patterns, and operations. This concrete approach not only supports diverse learning styles but also helps bridge the gap between theory and practice. As students manipulate dice, fraction tiles, play money, base ten items and other objects, they are able to make deeper connections, develop problem-solving strategies, and build a stronger conceptual understanding of math principles—all of which foster confidence and long-term retention.

My goal is to make sure that all my students enjoy math and are able to grasp the foundational concepts necesary to build on through the years!
