5th year teacher but changed to a new district this year!
Working with 6th graders is always fun experience!
They are starting to understand themselves and each other! I always have a good laugh and experience each day! I am getting to know my new class this year, and enjoying every minute!
My Project
This is my first year teaching math, and my 5th year overall. I am still struggling to make math engaging, visual, and meaningful to my students. I want them to have a deep understanding of numbers through number sense and using manipulatives to create visuals.
Math manipulatives help immensely in deepening a students understanding of a problem.
I feel that math manipulatives, such as base 10 blocks or fraction tiles, help students explain the "why" and gives a visual to how the numbers are being manipulated. The white board graph will be a great way to practice graphing.
