As a first-year teacher, I look forward to meeting my first class of kindergarteners. Teaching is my passion and I am excited to create a positive and welcoming environment for students. Kindergarten students are so eager to learn and grow each day which makes teaching them an absolute joy.
Kindergarten is the time where students learn to love learning.
Students become part of a community for the first time and learn how to be a student. This first year of school is important to set them up for a life long love of learning and a love of school. During this first year, students start to discover themselves as an individual and as a student. I am so lucky to guide children through this year and help them grow.
My Project
Kindergarten is when students create their foundation for math. Students learn to count, identify numbers, add, subtract and much more. During kindergarten students create a strong math sense that will be vital in their math career. We work so that students are able to understand how numbers work and their relationships with each other. To be able to understand the abstract concepts in math students must first learn concretely using manipulatives.
Before students can hold math in their minds, they must first hold it in their hands.
The items listed are all math manipulatives that will help students create a strong number sense. Using these tools I will be able to help students build a strong foundation in math.
