Hands on Math Projects

My students need a book binding and laminating machine to help them create personalized math, reading, and science projects.

My Students

Making Learning Meaningful is the greatest impact you can have on children. This is the mindset that I have when teaching my students. One way I try to make learning meaningful is by giving students opportunities to create projects such as math stories, review guides, or skits/plays.

Energetic, eager to learn, and enthusiastic are three words that describe my students.

Despite being raised in inner city Baltimore, they are excited about learning. A lot of the students live in a high risk, high poverty community and I want to provide them with as much educational exposure as possible. Although, our district provide some resources, budget cuts have greatly affected teacher resources.

My Project

These resources will help change my students lives. The book binder is a great way to help students finalize and publish their class projects. The resources will help students when they create stories during writing. The laminating machine will help protect their projects. The recycling game will provide the students with a hands on experience with recycling. They will learn what items can and cannot be recycled. Hopefully, they will inspire their parents or guardians to recycle if they don't already.

This project will validate and make students feel like real authors and illustrators.

Before my students had to staple the papers to create books/stories. The paper often would wrinkle or rip. The resources will help protect their projects and make them truly feel that "it pays to work hard."
