My Students
My students are working so hard to learn their basic math facts! Everyday they practice their basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division facts because having a solid foundation in math is helping them learn and grow stronger as mathematicians.
My class is a super mix of creative, curious, caring, and conscientious students.
On a typical day, my students work together to help one another out with problem solving and learning. My class really loves being active and hands on, which is just one of the reasons why Math Fact Wrap Ups would be so great!
My school is located in an area that is a mix of middle and low income households. Having said that, my students do not let their limitations at home hold them back at school. When they are at school, my students are actively involved in taking control of their day and their learning. They sing, they laugh, they look out for each other.
My Project
My students will use the Math Fact Wrap Ups to help with mastering their basic math facts. One of the goals in fourth grade is to master multiplication facts. The Math Fact Wrap Ups are a new and exciting way to achieve this goal. Any chance I have to incorporate novel ideas and activities into my classroom, is greatly appreciated.
I know my students would love the wrap ups because a colleague of mine lent our class a Division Wrap Up and the students get excited and eagerly wait for their chance to use it.
These Math Fact Wrap Ups would be used throughout the day. Students could use them at a center during independent math time, when they have completed their assignments, and when waiting for buses to be called at the end of the day. These Math Fact Wrap Ups would help to eliminate idle time, keeping my students engaged all day.
Adding Math Facts Wrap Ups to my classroom will help to make a difference because it will give my class an alternative to math fact flash cards.
These wrap ups are hands on, which would be very helpful to a variety of my students with different learning styles.
These Math Fact Wrap Ups will change my students' lives by allowing them a novel and exciting way to achieve math fact fluency.
