My Students
Remember those days of working out your math problems with just pencil and paper? It is time to make math real! With hands on activities, my kinders will experience what math means.
Our school is located in military housing.
Being military dependents, our students move around often and love to have a place they can call their own, the classroom. They come in every day knowing what to expect, and eager to learn! And what could make math more fun than hands on activities to spark their learning?
My Project
Each and every day we have our math lessons. As a group we work through the basic lesson of the day. But then the students get to move on to their math centers. A time when they can chose what skill they want to work on. What do they need more help with? What did they really enjoy that they want to work on more? These math centers will provide them with the opportunity to chose what they want to work on.
My kinders are amazing!
But they need the tools to continue to grow and thrive. Hands on math tools will do just that. They will learn not only the math skills, but the importance of taking care of their tools, taking turns with their friends and over all just working together. Please help make that happen.
