Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students learn the best when they work in groups on hands on activities. Their favorite activities are STEM team building games. I really want them to grow in Math and learn that Math doesn't have to be hard or stressful. The best way for them to learn to think outside the box and enjoy math is to bring some Math manipulatives, dice, and games into the classroom so they are having fun while learning math and simultaneously building relationships.
My Project
My students this year blow me away with their creativity! My goal is to change the way math looks so they can see that there are many ways to get to the right answer and that their creativity and visual minds can find the method that best fits them.
I plan on using dry erase boards to give them a better medium for writing and solving.
We need to solidify our multiplication facts. I plan on using the different dice and games to have them practice facts, and naturally begin using more math talk and become more fluent in math.
