Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Kids love hands-on learning! The use of math manipulatives in the classroom is crucial in gaining the math skills they need as they grow. Manipulatives make learning math fun while students gain a clearer understanding of math concepts and its usefulness.
These materials will help my students learn math concepts in the classroom, and apply those concepts to real-life situations in their own worlds.
The base ten blocks, dominoes, linking chains, and uni-fix cubes will be used to complement our current math curriculum, and allow students to model their mathematical thinking through concrete examples.
