Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This kindergarten class is full of incredible students. For many, this is their first time ever in a structured classroom environment, and it is also their first exposure to the English language. They come from all over the world providing diversity, allowing us to celebrate our similarities and differences. My students are enthusiastic, curious, caring, and creative. These students are members of a Title I urban school in Richmond, CA, a school where all students qualify for the free breakfast and free lunch program.

My Project

I plan on making a goody bag with these materials for students. It is important that they have hands on materials at home to continue making their learning fun and interactive.

Students deserve the best education we can give them; therefore it is important for me to be able to provide them with fun learning materials that can be use during our Zoom sessions, and that they can continue using at home to practice their letters, numbers, writing and much more.

These are material that students will continue to use all year to help practice sight words, cvc words, counting, adding and subtracting. The read alouds will allow us to have fun interactive read alouds where students can practice different comprehension and communication skills. The stuff animals will serve as their learning partners at home for reading, math, writing and more.
