My Students
My students are a group of physically challenged elementary school children. They are a hard working group of students who are studying Early Colonial Life in America. The social studies unit is one that the students enjoy.
More than 50% of the students are from families that are considered high poverty.
The students come from a wide variety of nationalities and cultures. The students and staff have created an environment that celebrates diversity. The school has a wonderful inclusive environment for all its students.
My Project
Due to Covid 19 the city of Boston is doing a hybrid model of at home and in school teaching. Some of our students will remain at home full time due to there special needs. They need these materials to help them learn successfully at home.
Our students need materials to work on projects at home.
The materials asked for in this grant will be given to each student in the class. The magnet dry erase board will be used with the magnetic letters to work on spelling and phonics. The student need the play doh fidget toys and pop tubes for physical therapy. The students will receive a storage box filled with a magnetic dry erase board, glue, markers construction paper, flash cards. Other materials will be used for art and math. The flash cards will be helpful when working on zoom in small groups and in break out rooms. The teachers also be adding more reading and math materials from the classroom that they can use at home.
