Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

These magnetic, dry-erase, double-sided Elkonin Box Answer Boards can be used to segment and blend words. They can also be used for advanced skills like phoneme manipulation and phoneme identification.

My students will be able to have fun using the magnetic wand and different types of chips to learn early literacy skills, including matching uppercase and lowercase letters, learning initial and ending sounds, and blending and segmenting sounds.

Students will be able to use dry-erase boards by hand2mind to provide a tactile element for sounding out and blending sounds. Boards are magnetic for use with magnetic wands, chips, and letters, plus they provide plenty of space at the top for writing out a word or placing a flash card.

Students will be able to use LITERACY ALPHABET CUBES to develop decoding, word-building, and spelling skills with hands-on literacy reading rods. Reading rods help with constructing CVC words, or consonant-vowel-consonant words for early readers as well as larger words for the next steps.

Students will be able to use SENTENCE BUILDING LINKING CUBES to develop decoding, word building, and spelling skills with hands-on literacy reading rods.

Reading rods help with constructing CVC words, or consonant-vowel-consonant words for early readers as well as larger words for next steps for students learning how to read. They will also help with constructing sentences including parts of speech and punctuation.

Sight Word Activity set is a way for kids to explore sight words—hands-on!

The Fidget CVC and Sight Word game is an engaging and fun way for students to increase their literacy skills.

My students have specific learning disabilities with individual learning needs. My students benefit from a multi-sensory literacy program and these manipulatives will enrich my curriculum.
