I am excited to launch a project aimed at enhancing small group literacy instruction for my students with special needs. In my classroom, each student is unique and brings their own strengths and challenges. My goal is to create a dynamic learning environment that caters to their diverse needs and helps them thrive.
To achieve this, I am seeking funding for essential materials that will support hands-on, engaging literacy activities.
The resources we need include tactile letters, kinetic sand, Wiki-Sticks, sand trays, puzzles, various manipulatives, and storage for these materials. We also need 2 more stools for students to all fit at the small group table. These items will allow my students to explore letters and sounds in a multi-sensory way, making learning more accessible and enjoyable.
For instance, tactile letters will help students connect the physical form of letters with their sounds, while kinetic sand will provide an interactive way to practice spelling and word formation. Puzzles and manipulatives will encourage critical thinking and problem-solving skills, essential components of literacy development.
By providing these resources, we can create a rich, interactive learning experience that fosters literacy skills and builds confidence in all of my students.
