Help me give my students magnetic letters, magnetic whiteboards, Play-Doh, and markers for hands-on materials to help spark interest and engagement in literacy and writing.
As for many of my students, this is their "first" learning experience. Pre-K sets the foundation of learning not only for kindergarten but for life. My students are excited about school and are eager to learn. They are hopeful and optimistic even during this challenging time. They feel that they are a part of something "bigger" and feel important. Which they are...they need to continue to be inspired and remain enthusiastic about learning to assure their success and eagerness while learning at home.
My Project
These literacy materials will give students many opportunities to items that they can manipulate to learn pre-writing and literacy skills at home. All students will have access to the same quality of materials to help them with remote learning. Young children (preschool age) learn kinesthetically. Remote learning serves as a challenge at times with providing these types of experiences, while not adding additional burdens on families and assuring students have access to fun, engaging experiences. These materials will also aid in providing additional practice with literacy as well. Students will use these materials to supplement remote learning lessons in relation to phonics and prewriting skills.
