Hands-On Learning...Because We're Kids!

My Students

My students are children and deserve the opportunity to learn through play, inquiry, and discovery! My students rise to the challenge of learning to read, add, subtract, and much more! They also deserve the chance during the school day to play and learn like a child!

I teach twenty-one wonderful students in an all day Kindergarten classroom in a high-need community.

Our school is made up of eleven kindergarten classrooms and eleven preschool classrooms. My students are a beautiful, multi-cultural group with differing abilities. My classroom is hands- and brains-on, and we love to learn from one another and through music. We love to sing and dance. My goal is to inspire my students to believe in themselves and become lifelong learners. They have made my life brighter, and I would like to brighten theirs in return!

My Project

I am requesting counters and student white boards for my students because I believe they deserve the opportunity to have hands-on learning experiences in math, reading, and writing despite the condition of the district budget. I am also requesting eighteen class packs of Play-Doh for the kindergarten and preschool classrooms in my school. I would like to act as the Play-Doh Captain and get Play-Doh into the hands of every student. Play-Doh is something each of the teachers in our building values as a resource, but its availability to the students depends on individual teacher's personal financial capabilities. I would like each child to have the opportunity to learn as a child!
