My Students

Do you remember always sitting at your desk in 2nd grade with paper and pencil? Well, my students and I are tired of that. My students would GREATLY benefit from sitting on the carpet with hands on palettes. We want to be able to have learning on each individual level.

Our classroom is a 2nd grade inclusion classroom in a military/ suburban community.

Because we are inclusion, there are SO many different levels of learning. As the teacher, I want to reach each individual learning style and know that the students are benefiting. The SpEd students and the gifted students LOVE to work together, but need to have materials to help them do so.

My Project

PLEASE help my students have more learning opportunities, by bringing learning palettes into our classroom, all students would be able to work at their own levels. However, as one SpEd student is working on their level palette, a gifted/average student may be sitting with them working on their own level. One student can only write on paper or in a text book so much before it gets old. The palettes will give the students a new hands on approach to learning. They will become more independent in and outside of the classroom. Having new reading and math centers will allow each student to branch out from his/her comfort zone and learn while doing fun things.

Me either. I want my students (and own children) moving around, diving deep into hands on learning. Help to create a new sense of independence for all of my students by allowing them to work on palettes alone. Help them to see that their pace in learning is okay, not everyone is the same. You can show them, they can do it!
