This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are creative, artistic, energetic students from different backgrounds, ethnicities, and socioeconomic status. They are between the ages of 6 and 8. Many times 75% to 85% of my students are on free or reduced-price lunch.

My classroom has a mixture of students from ESE to Gifted to ESOL.

My English as a Second Language Learners are between Levels 1-4, and my many of my ESE students have a variety of learning accommodations and although sometimes struggle, they never give up and every one of them is full of potential and eager to learn! It's my job to ensure that they have all the tools they need to succeed!

My Project

My project is full of individual supplies students will need to make this school year more engaging and as hands-on as possible. The materials ordered can be used both at home and in the classroom so that we can easily pivot between classroom and distance learning should the need arise. The clipboards and lapboards will also help the students be able to go outside to work in the fresh air and social distancing. Manipulatives like the Math dice and whisper phones will help them develop Math facts and Reading fluency in a fun and engaging way. Teacher resources like the sentence cut out workbooks make learning sight words, vocabulary and word families more hands-on and help the students develop their reading skills. Making learning fun, hands-on and engaging will also help my students mentally and emotionally deal with all the health and safety concerns going on this year.
