My Students

Kindergarten is an exciting time in a child's life. My students come from a variety of backgrounds and yet we come together to form a special school family. Now more than ever it's so important for students to have the opportunity to play and socialize along side their peers even while social distancing.

My Project

During this unprecedented time, my classroom will look different than it has in the past. Students will be expected to social distance and spend a longer amount of time sitting at their tables. This might be difficult for young learners.

Play is an important part of children's learning and development.

Play encourages autonomous thinking, problem-solving, helps them develop language skills, creativity, and social skills.

Students will be given the opportunity to play alongside their peers while social distanced by providing each student with his/her own manipulatives. Manipulatives will be in numbered containers and assigned to a different student each day, then be cleaned every afternoon before the next child plays with them.
