My Students

I have a group of first graders who are excited and love learning. They are curious about the world around us, love hands-on learning experiences and are developing a growth mindset when dealing with challenging opportunities.

My students readily approach hands-on learning with anticipation and excitement.

I'm hoping to support their excitement with challenging opportunities that will lead to learning and growth. Their creativity and drive to understand and problem solve will be enhanced by the opportunities provided in science, technology, engineering and math.

My Project

My students will have the opportunity to be introduced to engineering and math concepts through hands-on learning stations using Legos, Building Gears and other tools. They will be provided with a space for developing their creativity with engineering ideas and the possibilities of testing these ideas through trial and error.

My class will continue to develop their math skills and knowledge with the support of Reckenrecks, math bonds and ten frames.

Increased opportunities to explore math concepts will lead them to a deeper understanding of ideas that are new to them, but foundational in STEM learning. This foundation of knowledge will support them in their growth through STEM education.
