My Students
Our elementary school will be starting the year Distance Learning. Most students in this Kindergarten class will be new to the educational experience. Most of the students did not go to preschool. The families come from many different backgrounds & cultures.
Our school has amazing and supportive families but will struggle with distance learning.
Many of our students live in challenging home environments. Many students live with multiple generations & multiple family members (siblings with spouses & children) in one house.
Currently, my students have a limited number of resources available to them. However, they will be provided with Chromebooks and wifi access if they need it by our school district.
My Project
Please help me provide hands-on materials for my students while they are at home during Distance Learning due to COVID-19. My kindergarten students need to have hands-on math materials to learn the concept of a number. They also need a writing journal to draw and write about their passions.
My amazing kindergarten class needs support during their first formal year of learning.
The math materials will be hands-on fun for their learning! They will be able to pick between dinosaurs, sea creatures, farm animals, fruit, teddy bears or vehicle counters. My students will also be able to have their own journal to draw and write about anything their heart desires. Each student will get a bag with all their materials to keep at home.
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
