This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Pre-K is the first time students are in the school life! Almost all of my students come from low income or a single-parent household where the families struggle financially to even put food on the table.
I have a Pre-K ESL classroom where I am currently teaching in person.
Coming back to school during a pandemic has been very life changing and has been a not so easy adjustment to what I am used to. Giving the students the opportunity to learn in various ways while practicing social distancing has been a bit difficult, but we have been doing a great job!
My Project
The materials I have chosen play a huge role in the learning process! I picked some that the kids could use independently during work stations! I have added number and letter building, simple addition, and CVC word building materials. All of these materials would be utilized during workstations or when I have a small group.
I got a tabletop easel that would be very useful when having a small group.
I also added a timer that is great visual with colors, it is a lot easier to understand for them. The materials could also be easily cleaned since we are currently in this pandemic.
