Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I provide speech and language services for students in grades K-2. My students learn best when information is provided in a variety of ways (visual, auditory, tactile). The materials I have selected include art supplies, games, and sensory toys which can be used to target speech and language goals in ways which are interactive and engaging for students.
My students are in grades K-2, and they learn best when therapy is hands-on and interactive.
My students can benefit from the use of toys, games, and art supplies during our sessions. For example, I have students who are working on sequencing. Completing crafts which require multiple steps is a fun, interactive way for students to work on this area of language. I have students who are working on describing, and through playing with toys or games, students can build their vocabulary and expressive language skills.
