My Students

Kindergarten is an important milestone in the lives of children; it's a time that is marked by immense learning and growth. Imagine seeing the way a child's eyes light up the first time they read a book on their own, write a sentence or count to 100. That is what I experience in my classroom every day.

My students are playful, caring, resilient and have an unmatched thirst for learning.

Being in a Title 1 school, many of my students do not have access to books, materials and opportunities that are crucial to their learning. Although many of them live in difficult situations, they come to school every day eager to learn everything I can teach them.

My Project

Young children need to move, touch, see and experience the world around them in order to learn. The items that I have selected were chosen with one thing in mind: providing developmentally appropriate learning through literature and play.

At a time when so much of what students are doing is virtual, I want to provide my students with brain-stimulating activities that not only teach them about reading, writing and math, but also develop problem-solving, critical thinking and collaboration.

Every item will provide my students a much-needed opportunity to develop crucial life skills while still being appropriate for their age.
