Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"Be the change that you want to see in the world" is a quote that many teachers live by. In order to create change, we must alter the way in which things HAVE been done in the past. Historically, inner-city students have received a less-than-stellar education due to lack of resources.
We need to ensure that all students have an equal opportunity to education in this country.
Until funds are equally given to all demographics, it is up to people like you to ensure my students have what they need to be successful. My 5th and 6th graders LOVE science, but we do not have the tools needed to do hands-on activities and inquiry based learning.
My Project
These lab kits will allow my students to actually do science activities instead of just reading about them in a book. I am asking for lab kits that focus on all aspects of science: life, physics, chemistry and environmental. My students will finally have the opportunity to test soil specimens for PH levels, use rock kits to touch and feel different kinds of minerals and experience force and velocity with a rubber band car.
Everyone wants to change the world, but no one wants to take the plunge to make it happen.
Here is your opportunity, donors! Make a difference in the lives of children who really need it. Invest in their future and the future of education as a whole.
