This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Help us unlock an amazingly interesting side of history through hands-on activities!
I have the privilege of teaching a wonderful group of highly inquisitive 8th graders.
They rise up to the challenges presented to them and respond to engaging lessons extremely well. They are also excellent readers and appreciate opportunities to explore the subjects we are covering.
My Project
In our room we have a station called the History Lab. This DonorsChoose.org project will supply our lab with a variety of resources such as tape, glue, scissors, clay, pipe cleaners, binders, and many other useful supplies. In this space students are challenged with projects to design and create real things. For example, when covering the Trail of Tears students are asked to design a prototype of a memorial that will be placed in the National Mall.
With these supplies students will be able to really stretch their creative muscles and experience the joy of creating an idea and bringing it into reality.
This is a truly wonderful experience that will benefit all of our students. Thank you!
