"As I open my office door each day, I am greeted by faces of students who have found a small sanctuary within these walls. Often, they gravitate not just to conversation, but to the comforting weight of a stress ball, stuffed animals or the mesmerizing flow of kinetic sand. Many students with ADHD and impulsivity love the calming feel of the kinetic sand. One young person, Keir, who has been navigating significant family challenges, recently shared with me, 'Coming here and just holding this stress ball makes the worries feel...smaller, somehow.'"
