My students need 6 Kindergarten resources, including a Literature-Based Alphabet Center, Simple Words Picture Puzzles and a Children of the World Floor Puzzle.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
One day while teaching, one of my precocious Kindergartener said, "Wow, I have never played any games like this, Ms. A! Hard to believe, eh?"
My Kindergarteners are constantly telling me they have not been exposed to the most basic of childhood activities; painting, using colored pencils and playing board games.
They are growing up in an unstable, economically depressed, language-challenged area. They are exposed to gang violence and overstimulated by inappropriate video gaming.
My Project
I want to offer these 55 Kindergarteners exposure and practice with appropriate, educational and engaging games. We do have several, but they're starting to wither; missing game pieces, ripped boards and sun-stained covers. The color is gone in many of my games and so is the enthusiasm from my students.
I would love to share the smiles of my kids with you when to see and play these new games.
They're great for gross/fine motor development as well as challenging their problem solving abilities and thinking outside the box!
