This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My school is a Title I school, located in East Harlem, NY. My students are from diverse cultures. Most of my students are from low-income households. Many of my students are faced with challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite those challenges, they come in excited and eager to learn and interact with their classmates. My classroom is an ICT setting where I have both general and special education students.

My students are special because they inspire me to become a better teacher.

They have taught me that there is a brighter side despite any negativity you are faced with. I want to be able to provide my students with a safe and consistent classroom environment. A home away from home.

I want nothing more than to inspire my students in the same manner they do for me.

My Project

My students attend a Title I school and most of my students are from low income households. In the past few months, I have learned so much about my students. I had a conversation with my students about the different places they have visited and would like to visit during our class trips.

My kindergartners love participating in hands on activities and by visiting the Children's Museum, my students will be actively engaged while visiting the different areas of the museum.

After speaking to my students, many of them had never been to the children'a museum.

I would like to provide and expose my students to new places and activities and the Children's Museum is the perfect place to start.
