This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have a group of 17 eager to learn Kindergartners! We have started our year through distance learning! It has been quite a challenge, but they have adapted well. They are understanding the online learning platform pretty well. They are full of life! They love to tell stories and show lots of respect to their peers and teachers. They love to listen to stories, dance and sing! I have 11 girls and six boys. Out of these 17 , five students receive special education services in speech therapy.
My students are learning to write, count to 100, and learn the letter names and sounds.
Which will eventually transition them to learn to blend and read simple words and sentences. We are working very hard to instill the love of reading. Listening to stories read aloud helps build an understanding of narrative structure as it fosters imagination and encourages visualization skills which is linked to improved reading comprehension. These are our Kindergarten Goals! Kinder Power!
My Project
The bell has rang to go back to school in person. So I need some resources to help keep my students online and in person engaged and fun. This will be a challenging time, but with your help I can create some hands on, fun learning journals for students . This will allow my students online to be engaged in the same activities as the students in my classroom. I want to maintain the consistency of learning till the end of the year. I have found so many resources on TPT that will benefit all my students in this challenging transition.
