I have a diverse group of students each year that come with biggest hearts and strong desire to learn. The students that I work with are amazingly kind to one another and show me everyday how caring the world can be. We have a wide range of students with different backgrounds. I have taught students from more than 10 different countries as well as many born right here in Charlotte.
Sadly, many of the students come to school without the things they need to learn.
Such as supplies, worldly experiences, or healthy nutrition to make sure their brain is ready. Sixty percent of student at Long Creek receive free or reduced lunch. Yet, with all this being said they come to school everyday wanting to learn!
My Project
This project is going to offer my students a more hands on a real life way of learning. In math it will offer them games to learn through and give them materials that make learning more fun. They will be able to use real life situations to see how math is part of their everyday. The materials for science will the students have more opportunities to do experiments and really see how life works. Finally, the materials for writing will give students the opportunity to write like a real author. This will help inspire them to write and let their love for learning grow.
