This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are demanding more opportunities for hands on scientific projects. I am hoping to get lenses for a hands-on invention unit as well as graduated cylinders for several plant growing activities.
The ability to measure, that the graduated cylinders provide, will allow students to see how scientists use math to understand patterns.
Students will gain meaningful opportunities to view and chart class data and make connections to some concepts in math.
As a class, we spent the beginning of the beginning of the year learning scientific concepts. With the lenses and graduated cylinders, we can do our own hands-on explorations of some concepts.
