My Project
AVID students at our middle school have the future on their mind. They set goals for the year and even focus on college and career plans for the life that lies before them. They learn from each other and become a family.
AVID students are leaders in their school and community.
Part of being a leader is supporting their fellow students through peer tutoring.
Solving algebraic equations is a foundational, and sometimes difficult math skill that is essential for all future math classes. AVID students can use the Hands-on Equations materials in peer tutoring to improve the understanding for struggling students.
We will use these manipulatives in our AVID class, Math classes and even at our peer tutoring session at our feeder elementary schools. The students that these materials will impact are endless year after year!
