Hands-On Creativity: Craft Days for Kids

Help me give my students art supplies to explore creativity! Our virtual school wants to offer on-campus craft days where students can socialize, express themselves, and enjoy hands-on art experiences they may not have access to at home.

My Project

I am requesting art supplies to support monthly on-campus craft days for our virtual school students, providing a fun, hands-on creative outlet where they can socialize and build connections they may not have at home. With these materials, students will get to create wind chimes (various DIY kits), jewelry boxes (wooden heart boxes, paint, sticker gems, Polaroid photos), slime (glue, glow-in-the-dark powder, mixing supplies), mosaic coasters (wooden coasters, mosaic stones), birdhouses (DIY kits), paper marbling (stock paper, shaving cream, liquid watercolor), sun catchers (DIY kits), and hand puppets (DIY kits, craft glue). These activities encourage creativity, fine motor skill development, and meaningful social interactions.

Each craft day will feature a different hands-on project that allows students to explore new artistic techniques.

From woodworking and mosaics to experimenting with textures like slime and marbling, these projects will give students the chance to express themselves while gaining confidence in their creative abilities. Many of our students may not have access to these types of materials at home, so this is a unique opportunity for them to engage in new experiences and develop their artistic skills.

A Polaroid camera will add an extra layer of creativity to these projects, allowing students to capture their artwork and incorporate their own photos into their designs. This personal touch makes their projects even more special, encouraging storytelling and self-expression. By supporting this project, you are helping create a space where students can connect with peers, explore their artistic potential, and take home keepsakes that celebrate their creativity.
