My Project

I love that my students are resilient and willing to try new things. I love that they come to school and try to learn Math, even though they have challenges due to learning disabilities. This year, I tried something different with them. Instead of endless worksheets, notes and tests; I decided to incorporate hands-on, project-based learning. This learning incorporated construction and building things with wood sheets. Construction, incorporates Geometry, Measurement, Fractions, Decimals, and Ratios/Proportions. The students, for the most part, enjoy going to the woodshop and doing hands-on work. Hands-on work that incorporates real-world math really helps boost engagement which then helps to augment learning!!!
