My Project
We use technology integration in so many of our lessons. It’s engaging, fun, and so important! One thing that is consistently missing, though, is the ability for all of our learners to have their own personalized experience while using technology.
With this project, we are looking to bring science to life through a hands-on, interactive climate and environment model—while continuing to enhance our tech-based learning.
We’ll be using Play-Doh, markers, labels, and laminating sheets to create a 3D model of the Earth’s climate zones and ecosystems.
Students will sculpt continents and landforms with Play-Doh, add climate-specific features like rainforests and glaciers, and label key areas such as deserts, oceans, and polar regions. Using laminated info cards and overlays, they’ll explore environmental topics like global warming, deforestation, and endangered habitats in a creative, tactile way.
This project will be paired with educational technology, allowing students to research digital climate data and complete interactive lessons while building their models. Laminated cards and overlays will make the project reusable and flexible for different levels of learners. Each student or group can work at their own pace and dive deeper into what interests them most.
This unique blend of tech and hands-on learning ensures that every student can have a personalized, engaging experience—especially with the help of headphones (requested separately) to support focused, self-paced digital learning.
